Hi Plex community,
Im needing some help please to get my Alexa voice commands working with my plex server.
This is absolutely killing me that i cant get voice commands to work so any assistance / support would be greatly appreciated.
Ok here is the story, Ive got Plex loaded up on my Nvidia shield (player) and the server is been run on a QNap Nas.
Im using the amazon alexa dot gen 3 and have run through all the setup scripts available online to set up voice commands with my device but am having zero luck. I can confirm Plex app is running on my Nvidia shield (andriod tv), the plex skill is enabled on my alexa app and im signed in, Ive set my server and player with alexa and i can get a response from alexa when i ask to play a movie and i get a response from alexa sayging that it is now playing the chosen movie on my nvidia shield but nothing actually happens on my nvidia shield ie no play back.
Ive tried everything to sort this including resetting my amazon dot, unlinking and relinking the skill, i’ve also tried completely setting up a fresh new amazon alexa account with no other skills other than the plex skill and no other devices attached to it in order to make it real simply but still nothing.
This has me absolutely baffeled given alexa can recognise the command but doesnt do anything despite saying that its playing my movie.
Can anyone please help me. has anyone encountered this issue before???
