I have been experiencing ore frequent buffering from my files recently. However, my knowledge of the log files has been less than sufficient to find the root cause of the issue. Part of this is not having enough knowledge of the underlying systems that make up the plex ecosystem that is wrapped into the log files. Is there a good breakdown of what responsibility would be in which log file?
In my particular setup chain that is giving problems the file is stored on a SAN. The server is located on a separate PC. and playback is most often performed on an xbox. On all occasions where the error is occurring the file is an mkv that can ‘Direct Play’. All systems(SAN, server, and xbox) are at nominal processor, disk activity, and network usage. To find the root cause in this chain, what would be the best log file to dig into?
