Got "can't play video" msg that says check the log; but where's the log?

The RasPlex client sees my server and shows the content listing, but attempts to play a selected item fail with an error message that says to check the log.  I shelled into the Pi but can't find any log file, and the message doesn't say where it's supposed to be.

I have debug logging activated on the server, but I don't see anything pertaining to the playback failures.

I was able to get SD MPEG-4 videos to play, but MKVs and MP3s (from iTunes) result in the "can't play" failure message.

The PlexHT logfile is at /storage/.plexht/temp/plexhometheater.log (Use ssh/scp to access the file)

Thanks for the info.  Seems odd that it would be in a hidden directory...

It's an XBMC convention

OK, I've extracted the relevant portion of the log.  Should I file a bug on this?  I looked around on the site a bit but it's not apparent how to file a bug.

Thanks!

Posting a pastebin link here is fine

The failed MKV video files were 720/23.97p H.264.  Also, no MP3s will play (I didn't try any of those during this log period though).

The client did show poster frames from the video files in the menu, however (before any artwork was downloaded).

Can you force transcoding to see if that helps (preferences->networks->force local transcode (set bitrate)

OK, tried that at got the same result.  I left the bitrate at the default 320 kbps.  The entire setup between server and Pi is over wired connections, so I'd expect good performance.

Another thing I notice is that the Return key doesn't do anything on the episode-list screen under TV Shows.  You have to press the Space bar to get into an individual episode.  But there, the Return key does (sometimes) work, and the Space bar returns you to the episode list.  I say the Return key sometimes works because in many cases nothing happens at all when you press it.

Of course I realize this is early software.  Nice job so far.  I'm happy to help troubleshoot.
