I just transferred my Plex Server from an old laptop to an Asustor AS5202T. I turned on Hardware transcoding, and I am having playback issues on one of my TVs. There were no issues when I was running this from a very old, under-powered laptop. The playback takes long to start and once it starts, the video is either frozen, or very pixelated. The sound is clear to hear and without issue. The problem TV is connected via ethernet and a Fire TV. I have another TV connected via a Fire TV Stick that works without issue. There are also no issues on my iPads.
Some files play on this TV without issue. I think I have narrowed it down to files that are in an mkv container with a framerate of 24p.
