Server Version#: 1.28.0.5999-97678ded3
Player Version#: 4.84.1
Recently my Plex no longer lets me see any media stored on my NAS (ASUSTOR), it only shows me its own content.
I went onto Asustor control panel and updated Plex to the latest version, however whenever I click on the app from the control panel, it opens a new tab and takes me to the Plex web player, and doesn’t appear to have any options anymore to configure where to point it for local files. Am I missing something? Is this now a premium feature or something? Tempted to start from scratch, but would love some feedback first.
That sounds like you reset your password and opted to sign-out all devices. This also impacts your server – so in order to get back full access, you need to reclaims it (as in the instructions on how to reset your password → e-mail / forum announcement).
To reclaim your server:
open your server using its local IP address from within the same network/subnet (e.g. http://[local Asustor IP address]:32400/web; don’t use any URLs, local domain names or NAS specific DDNS URLs)
open Settings > [Server Name] > General
click Sign In at the center of that settings page (next to the “this server is unclaimed…” message)
Thanks for the prompt response, so I go here http://[localIP]:32400/web, and it launches Plex. However there is no server under settings, I only have Web Web settings and General.
Also, where I used to see my NAS option, the only thing that appears is "Add your media to Plex Organize, beautify, stream, and share your personal collection of movies, TV, music, and photos anywhere, on all your devices. To get started, download our free Plex Media Server software on the device where you store your media."
Then a link to Get Plex Media Server which I already have since I’m launching it from within my Asustor control panel.
