I just installed a fresh copy of Manjaro 18.1.4 KDE testing build yesterday, and this morning installed Plex Server from Manjaro’s Update Manager. Before installing I confirmed that the version in the Update Manager’s repositories is the latest, and it is. I figured that installing Manjaro again with the same username and computer name there would be no issue with building Plex up from scratch. but I launch Plex server and I have no place to add libraries, and i’m missing a lot of my settings. I created a video to show what I see. Any idea on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Take a look at this help page. Under the section entitled " Can’t Access Server Settings," there are some things to try for this kind of problem.
currently i’ve been able to add my libraries through the player and both player and server look to be updating them. once that is done i’ll have another look at settings and see what i have. thanks for the link
i truly don’t get what was going on. i waited for all the libraries to finish scanning like i said i would, went to setting on the web app and everything was there this time. server is connected through the lan and the internet. everything looks good. i even launched and setup the plex app on the tv without issue. strange bug, but at least it corrected itself. thanks for the link i’ll keep it handy just in case.

Another thing I’ve complained about in the past is that, when you add a library, Plex shows a spinner, or something that lets you know that it’s working. That stops when it finishes scanning the files, but Plex continues gathering metadata for a long time after the file scan is done, and there is NO indication that this is going on. So it may be that it was taking a long time to get metadata when it looked like it wasn’t doing anything.
i’m still having issues on this. running pms 1-18-3-2156 on a fresh install of manjaro 18.1.5. rc5 kde testing build 64 bit. yesterday when i set pms up it created my server without issue, and found and scanned the libraries i created. this has to be some thing specifically to pms, cause all i do is install it and follow the instructions for setting it up. this morning it was fine till shortly after i removed 1 library to readd it.
from today
server backup, but populating the images for my libraries very slowly. normally once the libraries are finished being scanned every time i launch the server all the images are there instantly. also had to tell the server to reconnect securely.
