Atmos/TrueHD audio stopped working in Google TV plex client (Sony XK90)

Server Version#: plexmediaserver-1.32.3.7089-b0a36929b.x86_64 (fedora)
Player Version#: 9.23.0.1764 (80d0211) Sony XK90

Anyone else notice HD audio not working for UHD rips in this client? Same rips play fine with <= 5.1 audio and I’m fairly sure this a regression from previous behaviour.

Define “not working.” Nothing plays, video plays without audio, etc.

Note that no TV will passthrough TrueHD from a TV based app to attached audio equipment. It is a TV, not Plex limitation.

What should happen is TrueHD is transcoded by Plex Media Server to another format.

Plex attempts to start playing the video but gets stuck on the whirling icon as if it were pre buffering, but it never starts.

I believe the TV does support those audio formats. I do have an AV amp on ARC but this is using the internal TV audio, which worked with direct play previously.

Yeah, no transcoding happening at all but I think there was 2 things going on. My amp had stopped switching sound field correctly on ARC and movies weren’t playing properly.

After an unplug reset the sound field switch is fixed, but it still refuses to play video or audio for a 4K UHD mkv rip with a THD soundtrack. I was fairly sure it used to transcode the audio and direct play the video and then struggle really hard as my server is an atom box
