Audio Distortion with Transcode

Hello All,

 

I am running plexconnect with ATV3. Some of my movies do not have enough audio power that even with my speaker set up I am at max and still needing more volume. I changed the setting to transcode everything and then brought the audio boost to 125%. Helps alot, however, I have noticed that with the transcode, the video is great but the I am hearing alot of audio distortion, especially high pitched frequencies. I even tried turning off the audio boost, however I think it is a transcoding thing as it is still there. It does not happen with direct play. Has anyone else had this issue with the ATV3? I have the Fire TV and have not run into this issue. Is there a fix I can do on the ATV or Server side?

It is likely to be at the PMS end as all PlexConnect does is hand off the stream to the iOS player on the ATV.

I have seen this before when i was testing forcing transcoding something recently (first time i had run into the issue).

What happens if you force transcoding on the Fire TV or do you not have the option to do that?

I will have to test the Fire TV again, but from recent memory I had no issues with the audio. I will try tonight and report back.
