Audio Files Causing Crash

I’m using Plex Media Server on an NVIDIA Shield TV Pro Android streaming device.

I’ve been saving my CD collection as FLAC files. The process is simple: Rip to WAV using “Exact Audio Copy”, import waves to Audacity, export to FLAC (44.1/16). These are added to a Plex Music library. They play back just fine using a Plex web client or the Shield Plex client app.

I have a separate set of WAV files, output from Ableton Live. I saved these as FLAC with Audacity, also at 44.1/16. When I play these songs using a Plex web client from my laptop, they play just fine, same as the songs ripped from CD. But when I use the Plex client on the Shield, it immediately crashes. I added the WAV files to the library, with the same result. They play using the web client, but the Plex client on the Shield crashes when I try to play them.

What could cause this behavior? Any ideas?

My guess is no cover art… I have the same issue on my Firestick. If the file has no cover art, it craps out. Add cover art to file, no problem. Plays fine on PC through Plex.

It was the cover art. Thanks for the tip. It never occurred to me.

Solution worked for me too. Thanks
