I have a TCL 55P8M Android TV in the bedroom. I do not have any other devices attached to it. When I play files with 5.1 audio (AC3, EAC3, whatever) in Plex, I am completely missing dialog. It is like Plex is only playing the front left/right channels, instead of down mixing to stereo.
When I play the exact same file in Kodi, everything works as expected. The audio is down mixed to 2.0 and all is good in the world.
To be able to watch most of my shows in Plex on the TV, I now have to resort to transcoding the entire episode on the fly, which is very inefficient.
Since Kodi can play the files without issue, it must be a bug/problem in the Plex app.
Is there any fix for this? Any beta version of the app I can try?
