5.1 PLEX sound problem with tv TCL 40es560

Hello ,
I bought a TCL 40ES560 tv to put in my room that runs under android 8.
I installed Plex on it and it works well when it is AVI files by cons for MKV files is another story.
When playing MKV files, I have the sound but not the voices of actors on a series or movies and series in 1080p I have the sound but not the image or it is very jerky.
The tv is connected in WIFI and I tried to connect it by cable and it’s the same.
I have a tv sony in my living room under android with plex and no problem with the MKV.
When I cast with my iphone on TCL tv it works well too but when I go through the tv app, no picture for MKV files.

To be precise I have the ambient sound but no voice when the actors speak.
The solution I found in the meantime is to lower the local streaming to 1.5 Mbps 480p and I have the voice of the actors but the problem is that my NAS transcode so it’s not great.
I admit that I dry a little.

Despite the latest update of TCL; I still have no sound at the level of the actors’ voices.
The problem comes from PLEX with TCL tv.
I read on the English forums that I am not alone in this situation.
I just installed VLC and no worries the sound works well.

TV model: TCL 40ES560
OS : Android tv 8.0
NAS: Synology DS3615xs

For those who have a TCL tv, do you have the same worries?

PS: under KODI there is no problem so the concern comes from PLEX under TCL android tv.
If someone has a solution, I’m interested.

I also have TCL 40ES560 TV with V8-R41KT01-LF1V190 firmware. I using 7.24.3.13840 player with 1.18.1.1973 server version, and i have this same problem. I updated the server to the 1.18.2.2029 version, but the problem still exist.

I still have the same despite the update TCL V8-R41KT01-LF1V190.
I also use the player 7.24.3.13840 with the server version 1.18.2.2029 and still have sound problem.
I think of a codec problem on Plex but no PLex solution is given.

I checked, and the AC3 5.1 working fine, the problem has only with the EAC3 5.1 sounds.

I already had the problem with the sound EAC3 5.1 but I have the problem with the sound AC3 5.1.
Did you configure something for AC3 5.1 audio in PLEX or TV?

The new 1.18.2.2041 server update is out, i tested and the problem still exist. :pensive:

Update 1.18.2.2041 also made but the problem has existed for a while with EAC3 5.1.
I have the same problem on my Nvidia Shield with EAC3 5.1.

I just bought a tcl 55A421 android TV. Having this same issue it’s like only playing some of the audio channels instead of all. So only the background sounds and no voices. Plex version 7.24.3.13840 server 1.18.2.2058. I have another Samsung TV, same app version on the same server. Same network, same source laptop and it’s working fine.

Is there any solution for this??? I’ve been using plex for years. First time ever having an issue.

I have the same problem as you with my TCL 40ES560.
I did not find a solution.
Chromecast does not work with my iphone or my ipad.
I have a Sony TV, a Nvidia shield, a Xiaomi box and I have no problem with it.

I contacted TCL SAV to explain.
I’m waiting for an answer from them.

I’ve bought a TCL 50P8M and have the same problem with not all of the audio channels being audible.

I also have the same with a TCL SP68.
The same files play fine in VLC or the native player, via DLNA or from a USB drive.

The 7.25.0.14185 version client is out, with brand new video player, but the sound problem still exist. :frowning_face:
