AFAIR, it could be 2 things:

  • audio codecs from Dolby are decoded in Plex by a special binary, which runs in the tmp folder. Ensure that this folder is not mounted with the NOEXEC parameter.
  • if the inotify table is getting too small, it can also cause “out of memory” errors. Linux Tips - #9 by ChuckPa
