Audio not working in different audio format

Most of my movies work. Except the high definition movies which plays 7.1 dts. i only have a 5.1. It gave me a distorting sound. So I’m looking where i can change the settings or I heard an option for an exclusive mode. But I never seen it in my settings. Hopefully someone can guide me with this problem. thank you

Although it would help a lot if you tagged your original post with the player and operating system you’re using, the following link on Audio Configuration should get you a long way.

Good luck!

It might be worth mentioning which specific Plex client is used
as well as a description of your signal path.

I’m using playstation 4 as my player for streaming.Select HDMI out audio setting. And Dolby dts 5.1. Sound bar. It seems only 7.1 won’t work but other audio would

And which audio codec is used in your file, when the issue occurs?
Please post the content of the Plex XML info of an affected item.

The format is x265 have 10bit , AAC 7.1

Aac is not dts
In fact, while AAC is the most compatible choice for stereo audio, it is rather poorly supported in channel configurations above 2.0
I don’t know your soundbar, so I don’t know if it can play 7.1 AAC correctly or not.

I mean , is is also possible that it is an issue of the Plex app or the PlayStation itself, but we won’t know without some log files and some technical data about that soundbar.

My sound bar is focal dimension. Its a 5.1. In my pc sound would work through plex. But through ps4 and the receiver its all distorted sound but video is working well
