Audio starts playing before video is ready, with new player

I’m seeing the same issue that is described here: New Player starts playing audio before video - #17

I have a folder with video clips and when the next video starts playing, it only starts the audio, with video frozen on a frame that is a few seconds into the clip.
When the audio catches up to that frame, the video starts playing and everything is fine.

When I could still select the old video player, this wasn’t an issue, but that option isn’t in the settings anymore.
But now it is only the new terrible player that is allowed.

Please get this fixed.
