When starting videos audio plays before video catches up

After a couple updates I thought it would get fixed still has not. Every time I start a movie TV show or whatever even if it’s only a hundred megabits it will video starts but the video does not move its like frozen audio is playing and then video catches up instantly to the audio it’s weird My server is not being pinged I check it no utilization it can handle it no problem

Having the same issue. Just like to add using Nvidia Shield TV Pro old and new models with the latest client. Server is running Version 4.59.2.

Same here, I thought it was just me.

For me the image shows about 5 seconds into the video but frozen. The audio playing normally. When the audio catches up with where the image is stuck, video starts playing in sync perfectly.

Server = 1.24.1.4931

Display = Fire TV 4K - 8.21.2.27212

Yep I got the same as you and it’s pissing me off and all the other 12 of my family

Yep I’m having the same issue too they need to fix this crap it was working with four and then all of a sudden it starts happening All the same videos too it’s weird as in the videos played fine before but then all of a sudden another not

This is occurring for me as well. The only workaround is to stop and try to play the video again. This can take up to 4 tries for it to start properly.

Yep it is really annoying and yep that way does work but you have to do it a couple times sometimes they need to fix this now

This happens to me, but only when a video has paused long enough for the TV screensaver to kick in or if I close the iPad/iPhone and come back. To thwart it, I just back up on the timeline at least 3 seconds.

This is consistently reproducible for me too. Plex 8.23.0.27621 on Android TV (Shield). Happens with locally stored (on the Android TV) and NAS data, so it doesn’t seem to related to file retrieval speed.

Yeah come on Plex moderators come and comment hopefully they’ll fix it I mean there’s not even saying oh we’ll work on it fix if they know there’s a problem it’s nice to address it and say we do understand

Sames. Nvidia Shield endpoints, Windows 10 server. Does it on both 2019 Pro and “tube” Shields. When starting content, the video is evidently starting +/- 5 seconds ahead, and stays frozen while the audio plays for that 5 seconds to catch, then video continues with the audio. Issue has cropped up in the last couple months. I’ve been ignoring it, but it’s an annoying issue. This never happened before.

Yeah it’s hecka annoying like it was working fine then all of a sudden this update has this problem with it
