Audio Sync Issues with Plex app on Amazon Fire TV

Could somebody please tell me which settings i need to play with to fix audio sync on live tv from the Amazon Fire TV app? I didn’t have these issues on the same TV with it’s built in Plex app!

There’s been lots of chatter lately about some player updates that were released for the Fire TV platform. Most people were having trouble with 2nd gen FireTV’s, but I’ve also seen issues on my 3rd gen as well. Check your Plex app version on your Firev TV. If it’s 6.13.x then you should be able to update to 6.14.x. Some folks are still reporting issues with 6.14.x - I’ve still seen some personally. If you’re technically minded you can sideload a version of 6.12.x and chances are it would resolve your issues. I’ve offered plenty of feedback to Plex on the forum that QA really needs a good overhaul. Instead of releasing tiny update after tiny update, they need to find a stable version - stick with it - and truly beta test other changes before making things “public”.

Hi Graham, many thanks for your reply. I am on 6.14.1.3753. Totally agree with your sentiments on the updates. I have noticed that if I reboot the Fire TV (3rd generation) everything is fine for a while but audio sync gradually degrades and then I have to reboot again. I only have this issue on the WiFi connected Fire TV and NOT on my wired connected Fire TV.

I just wondered if this down to any transcoder settings. However, any changes I make don’t seem to hold audio sync for long. Is it actually possible to contact Plex direct about this or do we poor folk just have to put up with it?

I am having the same issue. Seems to depend on the channel too. Standard definition TV over the air seems to start to lose video <> audio sync, but high definition TV and local media don’t. Only happens on the fireTV stick, and got the Amazon - Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD Model: B01N32NCPM and not my web, android or Roku clients. Hopefully this will be fixed sooner than later.
