I'll give a huge +1 to this. It would make listening to audiobooks in the car so much easier!
Yeah, I've just learned of Librivox.org and am starting to listen to audiobooks more. I would love to have better audiobook/resume support in Plex. I keep every thing else there, so why not audiobooks as well, right? Especially with the ability to sync (which I use all the time) and to access remotely (which I use often). This would just be awesome, so I'm adding my Plex Pass +1 to this request.
+1 Another vote for this feature from me! I have to find where I was manually when I pause and return to a spoken word audio track.
+1! Resume feature
I would really love this feature too! :)
I'd even be fine with a Play with... feature so we could use MortPlayer for the audiobooks. Since they've removed the ability to have a manually set sync location plex has become useless to me for audiobooks.
+1 for a Resume feature on Audiobooks. Also the ability to better handle Audiobooks with its own agent (if this does not exist, I am very new to Plex).

I was just messing around after reading this post and I may have come up with an alternative solution. I have OSX, but Windows can have quicktime or whatever...
1. Open the mp3, or whatever, in Quicktime.
2. Save file as .mov file. It will have no video but will have audio.
3. Create a new home movie library named "Books on Tape".
4. Move .mov file to folder location.
Now if you start a video less audio and stop it, come back later, it will prompt you do you want to start back up where you left off?
It seems to simple. I am just spitballing ideas and my test worked for me.

That's a cool work around. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!
That is a neat workaround but I think I'd still prefer some Specific Audiobook support. I currently use Google Play Music, upload the files, and on my phone it'll remember where I left off. But if I switch phones or mine goes in for repair. Then I lose my place, which in some audiobooks is considerably more a pain than others. But that is an alternative suggestion for those listening to books in the car. But still +1 for Audiobook support :-)
I also would love to see audiobook support in plex, however as a new plex user, just installed this weekend and looking at the forums I am a little concerned that this has been requested many times over many months but there hasn't been any feedback from the developers regarding yes we can no we cannot or even a we will see what we can do. I thought this product was supposed to be well supported. Monitoring and responding in their own forums would be a great start and would instil confidence for users new and old.
Not a moan, just an observation.

Jumping on this bandwagon too. Love Plex, but it doesn't work well for audio books.
