Audiobooks - support for a 'Resume' feature?

+1 for resume and a more robust handling of audio books.

+1 for this. Also would be nice to have fine grained seek controls. It’s really hard to rewind 30 seconds or a few minutes if you miss something in an 8 hour audio book, particularly on mobile.

+1 for audio book support. separate media station, resume, and also altered speed (1.5x, 2x, etc) would be fantastic.

I will purchase two additional Plex passes, personally, if this functionality is added.  (I already own three.)

I would want to see an audio book category that is separate from Music, with a resume feature.  Format doesn't matter much, they can be converted as needed.

Nice job guys- it's steady and smooth- add a few more features, and it'll truly be a game-changer.

Also, thanks for allowing Linux to play.  A lot of media companies shut us out, even though most studies show we pay more for media content than the average Windows consumer.  Good of you to keep us in the loop.

Can't be too hard to do.

I've been running Asset Audio Server alongside Plex to accomplish this. Would be nice to get rid of another server.

I think I'll go pay to support development. :)

I was just messing around after reading this post and I may have come up with an alternative solution.  I have OSX, but Windows can have quicktime or whatever...

1.  Open the mp3, or whatever, in Quicktime.

2.  Save file as .mov file.  It will have no video but will have audio.

3.  Create a new home movie library named "Books on Tape".

4.  Move .mov file to folder location.

Now if you start a video less audio and stop it, come back later, it will prompt you do you want to start back up where you left off?

It seems to simple.  I am just spitballing ideas and my test worked for me.

Nice trick, but it did not completely work for me. The .mov played fine in the Plex web browser and through the Plex Home Theater application on my Windows machine, but it did not play on my iOS Plex apps. I kept getting an error message/pop-up. Even stranger, though it would not play on the iOS8 Plex app, it did play when I casted it to a Chromecast from my iOS8 devices. I even tried converting to other formats like .mp4, .avi, 3gp, etc., but none of them would play on the iOS8 Plex app. Note, all other video files play fine on my iOS8 Plex apps: moves, tv shows, home videos. It is just these .mp3 audio book files that were converted to .movs and .mp4s that do not play.

Has anyone tested playing one opf these converted audio books on the Plex iOS app? Any ideas?

Hopefully the devs will implement this feature into Plex, but unitl then, any help would be great.
