Audiobooks - support for a 'Resume' feature?

YES YES YES!

+1 a thousand times, all Doctor Who in one place!  :D

this would be AWESOME. even a simple bookmark button, but to resume where you left off as you would a movie and have books ''on deck'' would be ideal. i have found it did quite well finding authors and covers as long as i used decent naming conventions (like as it says on the box from which i ripped audio cd)

+1 for this. I vote however to keep it simple and well integrated with the rest of plex. So many programs  suffer feature creep and bloat to the point of ruining them. I don't want to see plex ruined. (for all current uses it is well nigh perfect)

Part of my reason for wanting this is to centralize media onto one server and one program. I have 16TB of media active and could not stand to loose the ability to play current media in the name of audiobooks.

I'm pretty sure Plex will never suffer from "Feature Creep" as they would actually have to implement features every once in a while. This feature in particular has been requested literally for years by hundreds of paying customers and there's still no light at the end of the tunnel. Same goes for such basic features as FF and gapless playback... you know, features that are part of every single other media player known to man. Really getting tired of this. If it were purely an Open Source project w/volunteer devs only, I wouldn't be nearly as critical, but this is a paid product that makes them a ton of money.

Yes please... playing any type of audio (other than music) is worthless without this feature to remember your place in lectures, long interviews, podcasts, audiobooks, etc.

+1! This would be an especially great feature now that the handling of music has been improved.

COME ON PLEX!!! Give us this feature!! This tread has been here sense 2012! What do i pay you for?

Please add support plex.... it's not really that hard. Just use the tech already existing in resume playback in movies and TV shows and allow the user to place bookmarks. That's basically just creating an index of times and a menu to display them. Not hard stuff guys, at least not when the code already exist for other uses.

Good grief, yes. I've been hoping for this feature since I started using Plex. Now, almost 8 terabytes of media later, I'm still waiting. Come on, folks! +1! +10! +1000!

+1000 here too

Come on Plex, hundreds of paying customers are asking for this.

For me, the trick of changing audio files to video files does not work well: If you listen to audiobooks on a phone, you need to turn off the screen to avoid surprises and it obviously stops the video :-(

So Plex, once again:

This would really be something! :)

I too would like this.

I listen to audiobooks and podcasts on my 4 - 8 hour journeys twice a week.  Many of my ebooks are much much longer than this and it is often difficult to 'find' my place again.

+1 need this feature too.

We've put this on the list of highly requested features :)

Thanks Elan!
