Audiobookx in Apple TV App

The plex app for appleTV should playback audiobooks .m4b (m4a) files. The plex app on macOS is playing back audiobooks .m4b files without any issues. looks and works just like it should, wish the appleTV app could do this too.

I just added a regular m4b file to one of my audio/music libraries and it’s playing as expected on the Apple TV Plex version (tvOS 15, current Plex)… so I’m not 100% sure what issue/problem you’re experiencing. There doesn’t seem to be a problem for Plex to play that file type.

Also works fine for me. I have a large audiobook collection and play on Apple TV.

not entirely sure, what causes the playback problem. If I press the play button on an audiobook 5 hours long, 250 MB it does not play. If I start an audiobook 1 hour long, it starts immediatly. If I go back to the 5 hour long audiobook after starting the 1 hour long, everything works.
I think I’ve converted those books using audiobook binder with mutliple mp3 files.
The “kickstart issue” only appears on the apple tv app. The macOS app plays back the 5 hour long audiobook immediatly.

Ok… I can reproduce that on my setup with a stitched together audio file of 6+ hours.
Let me forward this to the developers.

In that case we’re however no longer talking about a feature suggestion but a hiccup/glitch/bug – so let me move this in the respective section.
