Plexamp is advertised as : A beautiful Plex music player for audiophiles, curators, and hipsters.
As advertised for audiophiles, can it pass through real HD sound to dacs on windows and iOs ?
I bought Focal Clear audiophile headset + Topping E30+L30 amp/dac.
When i play HD music from Audirvana Studio (trial version) my DAC correctly displays bitrates for HD files (DSD, MQA, FLAC).
1/
On Windows 11 :
In Plexamp i see DSD 16934, but the DAC displays 48 PCM.
Is there some way to pass original sound into DAC via Plexamp ?
2/
On iPhone :
I would like to buy Dragonfly Red usb DAC for iPhone/iPad.
Once Dragonfly Red DAC connected via USB on the iPhone,
will Plexamp pass through original sound to the DAC ?
Or will it be transcoded into lower bitrate like on windows ?
If impossible to pass through real non transcoded sound,
will i need to use other software instead of Plex / Plexamp ?
Witch one you recommend for iPhone / Windows 11 with DACs ?
I will buy Dragonfly Red for iOs use,
and will wait sample rate matching support for Windows 11, and other platforms.
This sample rate matching feature is really needed for audioiphiles,
to enjoy HD music with full bitrate,
and will make useless other apps like Audirvana, Foobar2000, etc…
I am a new user of Plex amp and love it, for some time, years, I have been an Audirvana and Roon user, but no more, Plex amp does the job well and the UI is great and easy to use.
