Hello, I have been using my current setup for years and all new media, both TV shows and movies, have always been added successfully when a new file is added to the filesystem. Recently, most TV shows have not been adding automatically when a new episode is moved into the shows folder. I want to say this is happening ~90% of the time. Nothing shows up in the logs either when trying to troubleshoot this.
One example being the latest episode of She-Hulk:
Path and file name: /tv/She-Hulk - Attorney at Law/Season 1/She-Hulk - Attorney at Law - S01E09 - TBA WEBDL-1080p.mkv
I can move this file in and out of the directory and no additional logs or errors appear.
Thanks! This seems like it would be my issue… Looks like I have 10,686 directories. Would you happen to know if there are any changes I would need to make to these instructions for a docker instance? I use Unraid and have Plex running in a docker container.
I had reread the article you linked and noticed this part:
I double checked what mine was set to and found it as 524,288. Then I realized instead of mapping just the movies, tv shows, etc. folders to the container I had mapped a more top level directory… The total for that came out to 1,100,130 directories… Even though they aren’t all mapped within Plex would they still count towards the watches? Currently in the process of just mapping the subfolders I need and remapping my libraries to those paths instead… Seems rescanning is going to take a while since everything is at a new path in Plex’s eyes.
It seems the inotify limitation is not the issue. After everything has been rescanned, and plex only has access to the top folder of each library, new tv show episodes continue to not be automatically picked up by the scanner while new movies (which have new directories being created) are picked up successfully. Any other ideas?
