I’d like to suggest a feature for Plexamp on Macintosh. When playing Flac files with different KHz and bits, you have to manually change the format in the Audio MIDI Setup software. It would be handy if Plexamp would change this automatically based on the song you’re listening to. Qobuz has a feature like this.
Maybe a suggestion for the future.

IMHO — Plex is trying to solve a myriad of problems. Transcoding to different bit rates is all over the map as far as issues. I suspect Plex looks at the audio-midi setup to get the maximum setup the system can handle. It would then transcode all to that.
To your point, I wish it would look for the maximum and then use whatever is less than that for playback.
