How come there is no “Automatically Sign In” option? I need to select myself and enter my PIN each time. I get this in the web browser and on my Roku and TV.
Recently changed to the player for Windows because Google Chrome wouldn’t direct stream on the LAN. The windows player is working fine.
You should be able to enable this under
Settings > Plex for Windows > General > Automatically Sign In
If the option is not there, create a managed user or enable guest then it will show up. After toggling how you want, delete the managed user or disable guest
This worked. It just wasn’t showing up. I changed to my admin account and it was there. Enabled it then changed user back to my basic account.
Kinda feel like this should just show up for all account and not just admin one.
it does not show for managed users account because it covers all users. meaning if one person disable it then the picker will show whenever someone closes app and the next reopens else there is no point to it.
so say your managed users account was a child that was restricted to PG and G movies,. You have aPIN on your account so they can’t access it. So if that managed user enables auto sign in then all they have to do hit switch user and wait for you to sign in with your PIN and leave when you are done. then it will autosign into your account next time the app is opened and they will have access to everything.
I would then have it show up but greyed out with a message saying to log into an admin account to change.
I saw the setting across all other player apps even when on a managed account so I just assumed it wasn’t in the Windows Player app.
