Missing "Automatically Sign In" option?

As background, I wanted to limit the content available to certain devices in my household. So I created a separate Plex account and used it to sign in to the Roku in my living room and the Nexus Player in the bedroom. I shared just 4 out of 10 libraries to that alternate account. But obviously, I miss out on Plex Pass features on those devices using my alternate account (e.g. trailers & extras). And no, I’d prefer not to double up to have Plex Pass on 2 different accounts.

So I decided to create a new user in Plex Home and share the same 4 libraries to that user. Which means now I can get Plex Pass features on my Roku and Nexus Player. But I can’t figure out how to set a default user for those devices as the new, managed user. Whether PIN is enabled or not, the option for “Automatically Sign In” doesn’t appear in the settings screen.

Is there an extra option I’m missing that would let me set automatic login? I just want certain devices to have a default user. Meaning, there is no conceivable situation where I would ever log into the Roku or Nexus Player using my admin account, so I don’t want to have to pick a user every single time I launch Plex on those devices.

I can’t speak for the nexus player, but the Roku “Automatically Sign In” option is a global setting, and managed users are not able to modify it, for security reasons. If you do however enable “Automatically Sign In”, then the Roku channel will automatically sign in to the last used user, regardless of PIN protection. This means, you just have to set that option while using a non managed user, then switch to the managed user. Just make sure your other users are PIN protected, otherwise, the managed user will be able to switch at will.

Ah hah. The way it’s phrased on my Nexus tablets & phone, it sounded like it was a per-user setting so I thought it bypassed the PIN on my admin account. I just checked on both the Roku and Nexus Player, the behavior is the same.
