Autoplay option for television shows. I would love to see an option to play the next episode in the series at the client side.
+1’ed. It’s been said to be coming many times by devs as part of “post play experience”… It’s needed.
Similar, when clicking" play" in season view for TV shows, playback should start at first unmatched show, not first of the season.

This facility is already available when you are in the series/season view - clicking the play button from there will play the first fully unwatched episode and continue playing them until you stop it.

I’d not say that this feature is available. Except for the very specific use case you mentioned, but what if I’d like to re-watch an episode, “start from the beginning” or start from some where in between an season? Not to mention the home video sections…
So yes, I miss the “play next automatically” as well
@C-lon, my response was based on the OP which only describes playing multiple TV series episodes - not home movies

Just to add more to what @ms3ars says… You don’t even need to be in season view.
If the show is already on deck then you can simply press the play button on the episode from there and it will auto play until you stop.
The emphasis is pressing the PLAY button… If you simply press the ENTER button it will play the single selected episode only.

@davehobson, that doesn’t work for me when I play tv shows from my iPad/iPhone or Samsung app

It’s all very app-dependant for now. On some platform (playstation I think), pressing the play button from the season view starts the first episode of that season. On some other platforms (android I think) it starts with the first UNWATCHED episode of that season, which makes a lot more sense to me…> @davehobson said:

Apologies guys… I was doing too much forum section jumping.
I have no idea why I thought this thread was started in the Samsung section. It is (I think) exclusive to Orca’s Samsung app.
@ms3ars… If by Samsung you mean a Samsung TV it definitely works fine here I am still baffled why every client doesn’t have this kick ass option…

I can only continuously play one episode after another when I am in season view on any platform.
On the Samsung Plex app, when an episode is finished playing from on deck it just goes back to to the episode summary… in the iOS app it returns to the plex home page.

Well that’s very strange because I just tested it again and it works. Its been a feature for a long time On Samsungs.
Just to clarify… I do mean it should move to the next episode of that particular show, NOT to another show that is on deck. So obviously if the episode on deck is the last available episode it would do nothing.
Assuming this is the case and your are pressing the play key and NOT the enter key then I would raise it in the Plex for Samsung forum.
From the manual…
For TV Shows, the On Deck bar will show you the episode where you last stopped watching. If the last episode was not completely watched, that will be the one to start with. If you finished that episode, the On Deck feature will automatically select the next in line for you.
Specifically this part
**Tip: If you want to continue watching a TV Show and also want to watch more than one episode, press the “Play” button instead of “Enter”. This will start the show at the point where you left off, and will continue to play all episodes after each other until you decide to stop.

I’d love to have this option so that I can turn it off (including from the place where it currently is working in PMP).
When we sit down to watch TV it’s for a fixed period of time, like 20/40/60 mins. I understand that auto play is a feature that people like, but for me it’s very rare that I want to watch the next episode and the fact that it starts is annoying.

The play button doesn’t work in AndroidTV at all. No shortcutting to playing media. You have to “ok” through the entire chain of views to get to the button that says play.
I would love this feature… Just a quick message at the bottom of screen saying next episode will carry on if no button is pressed. (15 Seconds before the end of current show)
