I have no clue what to call this feature … hence no idea what to search for to see if it’s been discussed but here’s the short version: i can go to a season of a tv show, hit play, and it will just start running through that season. However, if i stop, it will mark the episode i am currently watching but I don’t see a way to auto-play the subsequent episodes. Am I correct in that this feature doesn’t exist?
Yes it has been requested. I think I have seen post play as a common way to describe it. It has been a todo and an off requested feature for a long time. I think some clients even have it.
It is personally the feature I would love to see added the most.
I would call this a Series auto play list based on unwatched episodes and original air date. Some shows may have special features and you would want to watch those features inline, or maybe not depending on the features. For example, I watch Dr. Who and the Christmas Specials (episodes) fall into the Season 00 category and I want to watch those according to original air date. Now I do not include specials (behind scenes), so this works for me, but perhaps not for others. Definitely should be an option.
Another thing I do is watch several series in order by air date because they have cross-over episodes. (Arrow, Flash, DC Legends of Tomorrow, Vixen, Constantine, Supergirl) I had to add all those series to a collection, which I called Arrowverse (Arrow aired first). Auto play the next episode would be nice. Not all clients are equal either.
So, I would like to see an auto play or whats up next option, whether I am watching a single series or a collection. This would be beneficial for movie collections as well.

Platforms perform differently in this regard. Works exactly like you want in android/androidtv… But I’m pretty sure last I tried on my PS4 it would start at the first episode of the series/season.
