Autoplay not working/TV episodes not being marked as played after watching

For some reason, autoplay has not been working on my Apple TV. The other weird thing is that episodes that I watch on the Apple TV are not marked as played–presumably these two issues are related. Everything works fine and as expected on my iPhone, and episodes that I begin on the iPhone I can pick up on the Apple TV where I left off–but after watching it on the Apple TV, the episode status resets to unplayed.
