.avi file not displayed in Plex

I signed up with a service that offers a simple “Install” click for services like Plex.

Everything seemed to be working fine until I noticed some of my titles were not showing up in Plex.

I used File Manager and noticed that everything that showed was an .mkv file.
.avi files are the ones NOT showing up in Plex.

I checked many topics but couldn’t find an answer so I’m adding this post.

Thank you for any assistance. (I am NOT Plex/torr savvy.)

first things first… please refrain from asking questions about torrenting / file sharing etc. – this goes against our “keep it tidy” rules in this forum:

As for files not showing… this is certainly not about the file type. Plex has no restrictions preventing AVI files to show.
Your issue is most likely related to poor file naming. Please make sure you follow the Plex naming conventions – otherwise movies might be confused with other content already in your library.
