Avoid recording live TV

Hello!

I have a QNAP NAS where I host my plex pass account with plex media server.
I have set my live DVR-TV to view my m3u list.
I love the interface, how it shows the EPG and how well it works on my homepods, but I DON’T WANT IT TO RECORD LIVE :frowning:
They say that it records in case you want to go backwards or forwards, but when I put live TV on my NAS a lot of read/write noise is heard on my HDD and I don’t want that wear and tear on the hard drive.

Does Plex plan to add the option to not record LIVE channels? So difficult? It would be perfect for me…

@jezus Even if the stream was directly played from your turner, the stream would have to be stored somewhere.

Hopefully you are using NAS rated HDDs at least and therefore should have no issues with it recording 24/7 if need be.
