Backup and restore?

I recently updated the firmware on my QNAP server and Plex wouldn’t load afterwards. I ended up reinstalling Plex. Is there an easy way to backup and restore the metadata for these types of situations?

See QNAP faq

I’m unable to make the .zip file even though permissions appear to be fine (I’m logged in as the admin) and there’s plenty of storage.
I get the following “Unable to perform this action. You do not have enough permissions, or this folder is read-only.”
I tried to copy the files but got a similar error “The operation cannot be completed. You do not have correct permissions, the storage space is full or the storage space is currently in read-only or read/delete mode.”

Ya QNAP is fickle, Try turning on the base admin account and then doing the operations, after which turn off the base admin account.

My QNAP for some reason does not allow my personal admin account to work either, I am guessing some hidden permissions that require a command line change as opposed to the GUI.

I have asked some Linux / QNAP "pros. on other forums and to date no luck fixing the issue.

Unfortunately, same result. Thanks for your help.

I ended up accessing the folder share from a Windows machine and was able to zip up the folder.
