Backup files - blob dates not matching library dates?

For some reason my db got corrupted - what I didn’t expect is for backups to also be problematic. If I go by this…

  1. blobs db and the other db file should have matching dates
  2. blobs db had backups from the last few days. the other file has not been backed up since August

Why would that be the case? I had to create a new db which is problematic obviously

It meant that the main db file had been corrupt since August, do that the backup failed. While the blob DB was still intact, so that it could be backed up successfully.

Would this be because I have manually updated the db? I “fix” recently added media so that old content that I add today is not treated as new content.

The database works just fine. I was being stupid and updated the db while Plex was still running but otherwise there are 0 issues. Until of course I corrupt the db and need a backup.

Right now this is what I see…

Settings - Server - Scheduled Tasks - ‘Show Advanced’
Is there anything in “Backup directory”?
And if so, is this a different path than the regular database folder?

Path / folder is the same as the path / folder of the screenshot

I lost track somehow. What is your screenshot showing? The database folder after you created a new data base, or before?

No worries. My expectation based on the link above is that there will be matching blobs and library files - two files with the same dates for a proper backup.

  1. Before I corrupted the db by making edits to it while Plex was running, I had blob files to current day. The other file not since August.

  2. After corruption and creating a new database, the screenshot is currently what I’m seeing. It’s the same two days later. Again no matching non blobs file with the same 10-20 date.

Enable debug logging on the server,
restart it
Let it run for a few minutes
Inspect the log files for messages about corrupt/malformed database.

I hope you didn’t put the Plex data folder onto a network share?

I’ll have a look at the logs. As for where the data folder is, it’s in the default location that is used for Unraid docker containers
