Backups - way too many files and Scheduled backup not working

I am running pretty much latest with a very large set, 2000 movies, 988 Full multi-year tv series’episodes.

First I notice that the backup preference is being ignored. I do not see and cannot fine where said backup is. I think it is not running

So I am using bacula to backup the plex/centos server. The Plex Media Library has over 2 MILLION files and the backup ends up bering about 100G and takes 6 hours. Is 2 Million files alot for the library structure, etc?

And also, is there more details about the plex backup? I’d love plex to back it all up to a large 100G file that I can just grab to tape.

The Plex backup only backsup the SQLite database. The 100G of data you are referring to is all the metadata that PMS collects. This is not backed up by Plex.

The database is backuped up to the location identified in Settings / Server / Scheduled Tasks / Backup Directory. If you don’t have an entry here, the location will be the same folder where the original database file is.

Edit - 100G sounds about right for that size of a collection.
