I have Plex setup on 1 PC in my living room and it is the only PC that uses the library. The library is located on the same PC. When I watch movies through Plex this way does it use bandwidth through my ISP? I would assume that since they are both on the same machine and no other people or devices can access it that it wouldnt use the bandwidth.
It should not happen.
However, you must make sure not to use Microsoft Edge.
I only use Chrome. Also how could i check to see if it is using the bandwidth? Out of curiousity why would Edge make a difference?
Edge will mistakenly block the URL of your server, because it has an inbuilt ‘DNS rebinding’ protection which takes offense of Plex’s use of the DNS system.
This is an issue of Edge, not of Plex.
Ok, thank you.
You would need to enable ‘debug’ logging in the server preferences. Then the necessary informations will get logged.
I think installing Tautulli may also help.
