Quite awhile ago there was something announced concerning a “faster” Plex, I think it was all about a more optimized interface with less clicks to be able to play what you want to play. Have I hallucinated this or do you guys know what I am talking about?
If I am not dreaming, what happened to this project?
The reason for asking is that I am still after a faster interface for Plex for my kids. There are a bit too many clicks for them to be able to find what they want to watch (was it like 5 or 6 clicks/taps on the iPad to be able to watch latest “PJ Masks”, it’s not really optimized for small kids that can’t read :)). I’ve discussed “Plex for kids” earlier here, but perhaps the functionality mentioned above may be something usefull…?
Be sure to fire up an Xbox One if you want this new and improved experience. Stop by the Xbox forum to see all of the accolades the app is gaining day by day.
I believe the full screen/TV Mode version of the Plex Media Player has implemented the new interface as well.
It’s slowly making its way to devices… but in case you missed my sarcasm above, it may be delayed a bit based on negative user feedback. Keeping my fingers crossed they do some work on it before attempting to roll it out further.
Thanks, will try to wait a bit more then…
Yeah, Plex is not kid friendly at all.
One way to deal with this could be to use a ShieldTV/AndroidTV device. My kids use the Google assistant on the remote to get to what they want by asking for it vocally.
