Best folder for PLEX installation in a DS1019+

NAS: Sinology DS1019+
PLEX Versión 3.108.2

I am new in NAS world and in PLEX world also

I would like to have PLEX installed on different disks than my media.
I have read that having plex installed outside the array of movie files in a Fast Solid State Drive would make faster the access to thunbnails and other metadata when navigating though the movies so I have some questions:

What would be the best option to buy a solid state or sdd? and does it has to occupy 1 slot of the 5slots or the DS1019+ has another port recomended to this purpose?

I will appreciate any hints or tips, Thanks!.

Yes it will have to occupy 1 slot.
I have a 1817+ .
But afaik u cannot move the app to it’s own drive/pool/volume. U can do that on a qnap box.

A SSD could be used for caching Plex (and other apps) which 'generally ’ should help. u loose a slot so up2u what are
priorities. Ideally u want 2 SSD in raid 1 so data is not lost.
The best option is buy a card with 2 m.2 slots .I think the 1019 has a slot.

But imo THE most important thing for a pleasurable plex experience is the format and size of your media.
Convert all to mp4 using x.264 or for half the size x.265.
Movies dont need to be bigger than 2gb and 60 mins TV under 500mb

This is coming from a guy that has been there and done that - several times…
