Best settings for using iMac as Plex server?

So, I have a late 2015 retina 5K iMac 27inch that I’m trying to use as my plex server. I have a 5TB seagate external drive hooked up to it which houses all my plex videos. the problem I’m running into is being able to put the iMac to sleep and still be able to access the plex server on devices such as my Apple TV 4th gen and have it not constantly stutter and buffer. I’m wondering if maybe theres some energy savings I should have enabled or disabled or what I should do. I should note that in energy saver I have it set for the computer to put hard disks to sleep when possible, wake for network access, and I don’t have the option for the computer to not be put to sleep when display is off. also, I still notice that when the computer is even awake and the display is on I still have some issues with buffering.

if anyone can offer some advice, id greatly appreciate it. thank you.

Seems that Plex server lacking wake feature is the most discussed and highly desired feature implementation. No, Plex Server cannot wake your Mac yet. Wating for this feature for YEARS

well if this makes any difference in the power settings i have check marks in put HD to sleep wake for network access and start up auto but at the top i have computer sleep on never and display sleep on never.

Never had a issue on my mac mini but i have since switch to a windows machine for plex only

Just stumbled across this thread so thought I would add a link to some discussion that may help if you are having issues with waking your PMS on a Mac:
