I’m a happy Plex user and I mainly use Plex via my (old) chromecast 2. I use the ios Plex app on my phone for navigation.
I really miss the option to change the subtitle offset when watching Plex. I’ve read that this function is blocked because of my chromecast (??). I don’t have a plex pass (yet), but I’ve read that the subtitle function is also availlable for free users, as far as i know. I’m using externals srt subtitles so these should be manageable normally. I don’t have the option in the ios-app.
Most of the time the subs are running correctly, but sometimes I need to change the offset for better synchronisation.
Which streaming device would fit my needs? I’m an average user and hoping to pay max 100 dollar, so Nvidea Shield looks a bit too expensive.
I’ve read good reviews about Roku but Roku is fairly unknown here in Europe-Belgium, so I’m affraid I will be missing out functions.
How is the new Chromecast with Google Tv handling the subtitle management? Is this offset function still blocked? I’m not sure if this is the way to go since I’ve read lot of posts of unhappy users.
An Ethernet port would be a plus, concerning all the wifi-devices clogging my wifi already 
I don’t have a 4K tv yet, but maybe the future will bring one
