Hi!
Been running Plex server for years and thinking about updating my transcoding card. Currently running a Quadro p2200.
What would be the best upgrade option in the sub-$1000 category? Googling around, most articles are just listing the same (mostly ancient) cards over and over again.
Need something that runs reasonably cool to keep temps down.
Thoughts? Ideas? Knowledge?

What kind of streaming should it deal with?
For most common „household, family & friends“ transcoding, a recent Intel CPU with QuickSync iGPU should do the trick.
Streaming 1080p and 4K movies and TV to friends and family. Not looking to upgrade the whole setup, just to swap my p2000 for something with more crunch
Cheaper to buy new CPU with GPU.
New CPU can limit what your options are on motherboard and the rest of your system. A discrete GPU just means you have one less PCI slot. Finding a board that supports ECC RAM and also iGPU processors is not that easy.
