Beta 4 problems?

I just installed the new beta that was released a couple days ago, and now I'm getting a Trailers is Unavailable message.  Before I start digging around, has anyone else tried it and getting the same result or is it working for you?

Here's the log file in case there's something really obviously stupid that I did, but I don't think I changed anything except restored the apple tv to the new beta.  I checked to see my other ios devices connect fine with PMS, so all was well there.

Quick follow up.  I have now turned the DNS back to automatic and the Trailers app still doesn't work. And by that I mean, I was just wanting to watch trailers thru the regular app, and not use plexconnect.  Strange.

The log has NO indication of any DNS request captured or forwarded. It does not imply any PlexConnect activity other than looking up you PMSs.

In that case, I think we can't say it's not working any more. On the other hand even the hint that Apple is working on the Trailer app makes me shiver... :-)

I don't think I see how this is something that Apple could easily fix short of disabling the users ability to set the DNS server. Is there something that I am missing?

Please ignore the above. I realize how this loophole could be fixed by Apple.

I can confirm that the Trailers App does not work in Beta 4 on my Apple TV 2

I get the "Trailers is Unavailable message" when the DNS is forwarded for Plex connect or if I use the default DNS server.

I had to revert back to 5.2 to get things working again.

Can you try the WSJ mod and see if that works? (http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/74524-use-wall-street-journal-app-instead-of-trailers)

Do you need to have backed up your blobs or can you simply downgrade to 5.2 without these? I don't need to jailbreak, just want to get Plexconnect working again.

I had the same issue - the trailers app doesn't seem to be working at all in beta 4, whether or not the DNS is set to PlexConnect or not. It had been working through beta 3. Downgraded back to 5.3 and everything is fine. Oh well - PlexConnect is more useful than iTunes Radio.

Umm.. Maybe Apple isn't trying to kill PlexConnect, maybe they've just introduced a bug that's completely killed the trailer app. This may all be fixed in beta 5.

At the moment, this sounds like it could just be a trailer app bug rather than a concerted effort to sabotage Plexconnect type hijacks

Hi

I used Firecore's  Seasonpass to downgrade I dont know if its possible without saved blobs id doubt it though.

Looks like you beat me by a few seconds Roidy!

5.3 is still the current aTV iOS release. Everything beta is only for developers.
So, for the majority of the users, Apple is for sure still signing the 5.3 requests.

Your statement is totally correct however I was asked about downgrading to 5.2 not 5.3.

Huh. Mixed the numbers. Sorry. But then, what's wrong with 5.3 and PlexConnect?

Glad I saw the thread, was going to install the beta over the weekend to see how PlexConnect fairs.

Doesn't look like anyone tried the WSJ mod on beta 4, if I get the time I might give that a shot (I'll try 5.3 to make sure I know what I'm doing!) and report back.

Just in case Apple has decided to play silly beggars with PlexConnect, can someone post the edits over SSH for preventing the 5.4 auto-updates before it gets officially released.

Just be aware, that this will not work with aTV3 as you need a jailbroken device...

Aaarghhh—I forgot they have to be jailbroken.
