As a Brazilian user, I would want some love. Apparently Plex doesn’t know that “pb” is the code to Brazilian Portuguese and labels the subtitle as unknown.
The only work around, for now, is to save the pb subtitles as “pt”, that way the Plex shows it as " Portuguese " and that’s fine.
If you could do that, it would be great.

Does this one work good?
I also have issue with the original agent

Still in progress and have good result in my local version but not ready for release. I need more time. I'll keep you informed
Would you consider saving the files to live alongside the media files?
I'm not sure this is possible. And if yes perhaps in a second time.
Here is what I am finding in my tests:

It says that it can't find the subtitles that match that GUID but if I search manually on opensubtitles for that GUID I do find it:
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/imdbid-3750906/sublanguageid-eng
Yes I've seen this type of error and I've invest many energy to understand. I suspect Plex API in the first time but I've the same error with a quick and dirty python client.
There is some strange behaviour on the OS side.
I'm testing a workaround.
It may be the opensubtitles API..
I was testing same file with subdl (https://github.com/akexakex/subdl) yesterday and had no luck.
Today - it works.

I have downloaded and installed the new plugin as well and it is working much better than the original plugin, but not all subtitles I get are 100% correct. How can I be sure though that for a particular episode the new plugin has done its work? Can I force the deletion and refresh off the subtitles for a particular episode? For some episodes I have "English" or another language listed multiple times.
Hi,
I am realy waiting for this update. Do you have a timeline planned?
Some suggestions:
- matching with filename would be great (hate to wait until the hashes for this specific release is online)
- option to choose if you want HI or not
Project was in standby last two months due to very few personal time available. Holidays are coming and I will resume my code improvement.
Stay tuned
hi there,
If there is only one subtitle available, and this subtitle has a Plex Score = -20, then it removes it as it supposed to do so won't be downloaded, but then i see in the logs that it tries to download it
PlexScore: -20 | MovieName: "Intelligence" Secrets of the Secret Service | MovieKind: episode | SubFileName: Intelligence [2014]-1x04-Secrets of the Secret Service.srt | SubBad: 0 | SubHearingImpaired: 0 | SubRating: 1.0 | SubDownloadsCnt: 9772 | IDMovie: 170709 | IDMovieImdb: 3174350 | SeriesIMDBParent: 2693776 | MovieReleaseName: Intelligence [2014]-1x04-Secrets of the Secret Service |MovieFPS: 0.000 | MovieTimeMS: 0 | SeriesEpisode:4 2014-08-22 11:35:52,867 (-4dfe4490) : INFO (__init__:306) - Removing a subtitle with score(-20) under the acceptable trigger (0) 2014-08-22 11:35:52,870 (-4dfe4490) : CRITICAL (agentkit:983) - Exception in the update function of agent named 'OpenSubtitles.org', called with guid 'com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb://272127/1/7?lang=el' (most recent call last): File "/home/plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/Framework.bundle/Contents/Resources/Versions/2/Python/Framework/api/agentkit.py", line 981, in _update agent.update(obj, media, lang) File "/home/plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/OpenSubtitles.bundle/Contents/Code/__init__.py", line 408, in update downloadBestSubtitle(subtitleResponse, part, language) File "/home/plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/OpenSubtitles.bundle/Contents/Code/__init__.py", line 323, in downloadBestSubtitle st = sorted(tempSortedList, key=lambda k: k['PlexScore'], reverse=True)[0] File "/home/plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/Framework.bundle/Contents/Resources/Versions/2/Python/Framework/code/sandbox.py", line 108, in _getitem_ = lambda x, y: x.__getitem__(y), IndexError: list index out of range
I have changed the code at line 315 from
if subtitleResponse != False
to:
if subtitleResponse:
So now it check if the list "subtitleResponse" is empty or not and executs the right statment.
can you check it to ?
Hi!
I tried Your plugin, but looks like there is problem with correct language code. I want to download Latvian subtitles. In Opensubtitles.org, the code for Latvian language is LAV
2014-10-03 14:59:07,864 (7f3be6ffd700) : INFO (__init__:222) - Looking for match for IMDB 0864835 and language lat 2014-10-03 14:59:14,953 (7f3be6ffd700) : INFO (__init__:225) - hash/size search return no results 2014-10-03 14:59:14,954 (7f3be6ffd700) : INFO (__init__:335) - No subtitles available for language lat
In logs, it show, that it is looking for language LAT - what corresponds to Latin. Where this plugin take the language code from? When the subtitle is encoded in movie file, Plex understands it correctly.
EDIT: Ok, I changed in "DefaultPrefs.json" from LAT to LAV and now it finds the subtitles correctly. Just in OpenSubtitles settings it show just "lav" instead of "Latvian"
And Is it possible, to modify the code, to automatically search for 3 languages instead of 2?
Thanks for the great job!
Martins
Any progress? :)
Would this plugin be better then the original plugin, about the #1 problem that currently exists, about Duplicate .srt files being download every time the library is force refreshed ?
I have tried bouth with and without credentials, still keeps getting duplicates. I remove the duplicate using webTools, but when deleted u have to do a force refresh to update the .xml files, and
that way triggers a re-download of all the .srt files again, causing you to go back to start. (or atleast with just 1 duplicate, instead of all the ones deleted via webtools)
Can this be so hard to solve ?

Yes.

This problem is fixed in the current version of the OpenSubtitles agent.
