I see that plex dont work the same for all clients.
I think that for Samsung, Lg and devices with kodi plex dont force to transcode but in ps4, apple, chromecast yes…
Can someone confirm this? I means, Im looking to know what devices are the best and dont force to transcode in remote access because when plex force to transcode is very bad for the servers.
That’s because all clients don’t have the same container, codec and bitrate requirements… The best thing is to try an figure out what all the requirements are for the clients you are serving… Pick one that will work on all your clients and encode your media to that container/codec/bitrate combination… If that’s not possible, you’ll have to have a separate file encoded with the second container/codec/bitrate combination that will work with clients the first one wont cover… The next thing that you need to consider is upload speed and how many concurrent streams you are trying to steam…
