The new Extras addition to the Movie info page is a nice feature and displayed well but it is very dependent on Web content and not quite as good for those of us who have the full set of extras ripped from disc.
I propose that Plex should scan the specific Movie (and TV folders as well) for an Extras folder and display whatever content is contained by filename in the same location Plex shows it's web based extra content.
Due to the inflexibility of TMDB/TVDB to allow DVD/BLURAY Extras to be entered into their Database there could not be any metadata involved with these contents but as long as they are displayed in the Movie Info page no metadata would be needed as the filenames would reflect the content properly enough.
File structure would look like:
Movies Section Folder
-Movie Title Folder
--Movie Title (Mkv, MP4 Etc)
--Extras
--- Extra 1, Extra 2 Etc
XBMC has an Video Extras add on that also uses this file structure already and it seems to be the most logical way to handle Ripped Extras until such time as TMDB/TVDB or some other scraper decided to encompass and embrace the fact that many of us prefer to have the entire disc full of content on our server for whole house playback. And that includes all the extras found on the discs we rip.
Plex would have to know to NOT attempt to find metadata for anything kept in an Extra folder (which I believe it does ignore this already) so all that would be left is to add the content of those folders to the individual Movie/TV Info page as if they were personal content displayed by filename only.

@dane22 - maybe i misunderstood your post, but I think the point is to add an "Extras" folder or category besides those that are already included (Trailers, Behind the Scenes, etc)
The Extras included on a DVD or BluRay don't always fit into any of those categories. Simply put, they are "Extras" or "Bonus", and it's a stretch to call them a deleted scene, an interview, a trailer, behind the scenes or a scene. They are none of those. Excluding or deleting automatic retrieving of extras doesn't cure the problem either
As an example, I recently ripped the Lorax bluray, which includes 3 Mini movies. I dropped the mini-movies into a Behind the Scenes folder as a work around, but they really should be an "Extra" or "Bonus"

The point is thats great for Plex but sucks for the the other methods of accessing my Video library that are used in my household.
If Plex was the only one being used it might be ok but I am attempting to get Plex (and all others) to do these thing in a better Standardized way across the board.
That said the issue isn't really Plex or XBMC (or any others being used)...
The issue is the scraper sites, who seem to have a very different agenda regarding what they do that doesn't really apply to what they are mostly used for, which is scraping.
I understand why they feel it's too much considering all the different versions released of the same content titles, but That doesn't really give us many options to go with other than something along the lines I proposed or archaic renaming and tagging to get them identified.
The end user should in the end be able to rip a disc he owns, Place the files in a proper folder subfolder structure and be done with it.
Anything in the Extras folder would show up in the same place it shows the Web Based extras now. It would just add to the list and NOT require us turning off scraping for each content because the fact it is IN that extra folder tells Plex do not attempt to search for Metadata!
