the thing that would be very interseting for me personally is, why technically it is a problem to share playlists. There must be something complicated about it i just don´t think about atm and maybe this is what could help people to be more patient and understandingly about this thing. maybe this type of communication with the whole plex familiy would help a little… it is not always about an accurate roadmap. sometimes it is just the feeling to be part of something. speaking of me again, i was kind of irritated when i bought the plex pass (for the multiple users feature) and then i had a kind of downgrade because we could not access our playlists anymore. don´t get me wrong, i love plex and generelly it is great seeing this project grow but as a community we should be a little closer together sometimes
Slow down buddy.
You are my hero for actually getting a response here even if it is the typical Plex “Support” response of no help at all.
Typical plex employee response on here. Customer service goes a long ways, but i guess you got our money so why bother to reply on your forum on your feature request page, after 5 years of being ignored.
World War I was fought out FASTER than this tiny request ?
August 1914 - Nov. 1918 compared to your 2014 - 2019 time frame for a simple reply like “we may work on … or not some day”
Pretty disappointing the number one reason to not recommand this solution, cause I purchased life time due to one reason:
your explanation of managed user and sharing with friends and so on.
SOMEWHERE deep down in a tiny footnote you may have added a list of features that will not work … cause even music sharing did not work on our system …
Alexa is supported by plex even in german after years but in what quality?
Alexa is close unable to unable your german implementation …
while in the same second the same titles will be called easily in spotify.
So it is not a question that I misspelled things … cause Alexa powering spotify did what I wanted to get done. Doing the same using plex I can get such things done in 10%, so 90% it is a waste of time.
Music playlist sharing must be rocket science I guess … and I will not imagine about foto sharing or photo album sharing …
I hope things will be fixed soon cause otherwise all my siblings and kids will not buy a plex pass … one is enough if the quality of implementation is not there and can not be checked in advance .
That is an awesome comparison.
However, I would hesitate to call it “tiny”. Just because it fits in a sentence doesn’t mean the implementation, across server, clients and cloud is trivial.
Please make this happen

It will be worth the 5 year wait!

yes pleas hare playlist …
+1 make do it better plex!
How about for those of us who have been waiting quietly for years for this feature? Do we get a ‘no’ on this if you decide that someone else asked poorly?
Nothing anyone has added recently to this discussion has changed anything about the status of this. Will I tell you the status? Sorry, I won’t.
@BigWheel Ok, that’s just plain rude. I can’t believe you’re a Plex employee. We’re just having a discussion here. Please take some lessons from @elan on how to properly respond to customers.
I was responding to the person above and informing him nothing has changed from 19 days ago. If it had I would have already closed this.
@BigWheel I know who you were responding to. It’s still rude.
Maybe if EVERYONE stops paying for their plex pass, and the ‘CEO’ and ‘Plex Employees’ don’t get paid, mybe, and only maybe, they might actually start working on this feaure
Power of the people
I accept that playlist syncing is not trivial, but there is at least an example of how to do something approaching this in @dane22 's WebTools plugin. Even something less complicated such as a server-side playlist sync job would be worlds better than having to do it manually.
I hope that music is getting some love where their library overhaul. Maybe they are also adding playlist sharing support with that overhaul?
Let’s hope so, it’s a +1 for me.
I really miss this feature as well. It’s inconvenient not being able to share a playlist with the household.
Why take the time to respond? Maybe, just maybe you could be more productive with your time. ![]()
Agreed, I have a Kids user (IE separating content by MPAA rating_ and want to share music playlists I have on my adult account, they have access to the songs and I think having to create 2 sets of playlists and keeping them in sync is ridiculous.
