Wow. I just realized this post originated in 2014 and this still isn’t available. Please please please make this a reality.
Any progress on this feature?
This is really making me angry,
+1 shareable playlists
@OttoKerner Can we get some type of feedback on this, Its been commented on and voted on since 2014.
Another +1 to be able to share playlists. I have taken a great deal of time setting up playlists with the proper viewing order for a whole bunch of movies and TV series, and not being able to share them with anyone else is a major hassle.
Also, five years of continuous requests for a feature is quite enough, don’t you think? Just implement it already.
If you don’t care about the order of the tracks in the playlist, you can get around this by editing the moods for different tracks. Then just filter through your different moods to get the playlist you want. It works perfectly on the web interface! But … now they’re discontinuing track moods.
Please add this feature.
I can’t believe this is still going on. Please!
Not going to happen folks… This has been requested for 5+ years and like a lot of request, it will continue to be ignored. I’m sure they are too busy working on a new feature NO ONE wants. This is the Plex way.
I share my Plex library with friends and family. I recently created a playlist of all the Marvel movies to watch in the correct order. I assumed I would be able to enable what users could see this playlist (by default it should be just shown to me.) I was very surprised that this feature doesn’t exist! Please add this funcationality, everything else about Plex I love.

First off, please accept my apologies for having to directly @ call out team members and employees. I’m just trying to get some attention on this.
Everyone, this feature request is now 5 years old. It has 696 votes and from what I can see, it is currently the #2 ranked request. There has not been a single official response from PLEX in this thread. We are all under the impression that feature requests are reviewed by staff, but in this case it appears that this one has been missed.
Please, at a minimum acknowledge this feature request. PLEX is a sharing platform and this functionality would substantially improve the product.
Thank You.
Do not mass ping people like that again. If you do I will suspend your account from theses forums. Whether you are offended by that or no,t believe me when I say I am not joking.
I’m sorry we do not announce future features ahead of time. But I’m sure you already knew that.
If you demand an answer, the answer will be no.
That’s fine and I wont. There’s no need to be rash like that. Put yourself in the end user position where all you’re asking for is a simple response. Something as simple as “Thanks, we’ll look into it” would have been fantastic. Just something rather than radio silence after years.
You mean like the very first reply to this request. Better Playlists - #2 by DomC
Yes, that was made 5 years ago. My intention was to bring this back into the focus of a decision maker as many of us are wondering if this was simply forgotten and it is still a very active request today.
Pinging people like that is a no-no, but I understand the desire for such a feature!
I’ll acknowledge the request, and even tell you it has been discussed internally, so something that’s been on our minds. That doesn’t imply it’ll be worked on, but it’s better than nothing
It sure is, thank you for taking the time to respond. It is certainly appreciated.
@elan Agree with @sterod, appreciate the calm, respectful, and professional response. That said, Plex users are getting more and more frustrated due to the lack of response to our basic feature requests and lack of support on some issues (like 4k/buffering issues on Xbox one). Understand the policy is not to share info on future releases, but IMHO it’s well past time to change that policy. Many software companies nowadays share their roadmaps. And even if they miss a target or cancel a release, users are more forgiving because they received the communication in the first place.
Please seriously consider more frequent communication within the forums. It would be greatly appreciated.
