No, I’m trying to figure out why you’re seeing a lack of search results.
The web app, not mobile.
You’re showing me a screenshot returning results so I don’t follow.

not relevant to this post but there is also DBRepair script Option #2. Don’t ask me what the difference is.
And yes, I now got used to not seeing all results from search.
That’s because the band name is in the track/file name… hence the “tracks” tab. But there’s not “artist” tab showing one result.
It is still impossible to search track artists.
You can’t search for track artists as artists. You can search for tracks by track artists.
You can’t. Read his message above.
I know I can’t. It’s called lobbying. I just want them to understand the issue. Based on the answers I’m getting, I don’t think they do.
If MusicBee can do it, so could Plex.
Have you ever tried it?
Of course, and I posted an example above of what the metadata looked like.
I’m not replying to you. I’m replying to @BurgundianPLEX, because it seems that he doesn’t seem to have understood what you meant.
I posted multiple screenshots showing what happens when I search for track artists, Mr. Little Death.
You haven’t shared the screenshot of the “Tracks” search. I just want to confirm that you’ve given all possible attempts a shot. I don’t mean any harm. Hope you can be a bit more courteous too.
I’ve tried everything, but the feature I need isn’t available yet. When searching for an artist, I want all associated track artists to be shown — not just album artists.
Messages 233 and 234 include the screen captures I was referring to.
Apologies, I misread.
If you want to search for all the songs of an artist, just search for “Tracks” using the artist’s name, and you’ll be able to get all the songs by that artist. Regardless of whether he is the album artist of that particular album or not, as long as the artist’s name is included among the artists of the “Tracks”, those songs can be searched and found. I think this should also meet your requirements. If I’m not mistaken.
There are no albums of Flo Milli in my library, so when I search for the artist, no results will come up. However, when I search for “Tracks”, I can find all the songs in which the artist includes Flo Milli.
If you expect that when searching for an artist, an artist who doesn’t have their own album in your library can be returned, Plex doesn’t support this. This is because only those artists who have albums with themselves listed as the album artist will generate an artist entry in Plex. Only then will they have an independent page and can be searched for as an artist.
If you want to search for and get all the songs of a certain artist (who doesn’t have their own album), then you can directly search for “Tracks” and you’ll obtain all of his songs.
@elan Indeed, many people are puzzled and not used to the fact that artists who don’t have their own albums don’t have independent entry. It seems that in most other applications, even if an artist doesn’t have an album with themselves listed as the album artist but appears among the artists of a song, they will still have an independent entry and can be searched for. Perhaps this is the result that @BurgundianPLEX is expecting. If possible, this would actually be a nice experience.
Thanks, that only works if the artist name is included in the track name. And even if it was, displaying tracks only allows me to play individual tracks, which is not what i’m after.
I have hundreds of Bach tracks and look what happens when I search for tracks featuring Bach
Like I said, the feature is not available yet and this is for Elan to make that ball roll. Users have been begging for it for over 10 years. Other DLNA servers like MusicBee have that feature already.
Thanks for trying to help, though, 小四.
That is not the case.
The ball rolled, homie.
