At the moment albums containing more than one albumartist are grouped seperately. Hence, if I for example search for “Prince”, I find:“Prince”/“Prince & The New Power Generation”/“Prince & The Revolution”, but I would like to find all of those albums under the tag “Prince”.
If music-files are for example tagged with “Musicbrainz Picard” they obtain an additional tag called “artists” which contains all albumartists seperated with a semicolon (“Prince; The Revolution”). This could be used that an album can be found for both artists, but there are of course other ways to achieve this too.
+1 especially since there’s a lot of albums out there with “Artist featuring Other Artist(s)”

What you can do is manually set the “Album Artist” tag to “Prince” and then they will all show up under the one artist. That works ok in your scenario, but I agree it isn’t good for compilations etc
There is an [existing request](Since all votes were lost with the new forum changeover, I have taken the opportunity to rework one of my ID3 tag feature requests into a more comprehensive request for tag support. This would be a great opportunity to consolidate all the votes that were spread across so many threads before, and maybe get some much-needed attention.) for better handling of multiple artists. Rather than splitting votes across several threads, it would be better to add your comments to that thread, and vote by clicking ‘Like’ on the first post in that thread.
