Books on Tape - Or Audio MP3 Book Support Please????

Please advise how to add MP3 books on tape (i.e. audio books) to Plex. I’ve spent the better part of a month-plus attempting to provide audio books for my sight-impaired wife, so she doesn’t have to blindly fumble around with MP3 CDs.

From what I have been able to uncover here (after setting up the Plex server service and required iptables ports on CentOS 6.7) is that Plex is no better at playing audio MP3 books than Emby or Roku Media Player. All three of these media players are examples of horrible audio book support: That is no pause/resume, no rewind, etc.).

I read where one gentlemen is converting MP3s to MP4s and using the Plex Movie function. Is this the only option?

As of the current moment, yes. Elan said in one of the feature request threads that they are looking into adding resume functionality, but no timeline has been released so it’s unknown as to when this would be released.

Is there any support for audio books yet - other than the mp4 route? TIA.

…including pause, stop, chapter skip, indexing (for resume).
