I can’t split these two TV Series. They always end under the same Plex Serie called Bordertown (2016).
Folders are named as shown in the title and on thetvdb.com.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Check your naming and organization. Plex is very picky with TV shows.
If mp4 files, embedded metadata may be tripping up Plex’s ability to match. Check Plex Media Server Settings -> Agents -> Shows. Local Media Assets should be checked, but should also be the last agent. Drag it to the bottom of the list if it is not already there.
If you have to rename/reorganize, suggest you Plex Dance both shows. This clears out any bad matching, metadata, etc from Plex’s database.
TV Shows (Naming and Organizing)
/TV Shows
/Bordertown
/Season 01
/Bordertown - s01e01.mkv
/Bordertown (FI) (2016)
/Season 01
/Bordertown (FI) (2016) - s01e01.mkv
The folders are named exactly as shown on thetvdb:
/Serien
/Bordertown (2016)
S01E01.mkv
/Bordertown (FI) (2016)
S01E01.mkv
In your example it’s Bordertown from 1989. Mine are both from 2016 and share the same name - with the only difference being another descriptor (FI).
I tried Dance, I tried Split, they are always mapped together.
Is there a way to put an IMDB id or a THETVDB id into the series folder?
Alternatively I could rename the folder as an id. Would that work?
My bad. I missed the two 2016 shows. However, it still works. See screenshot below.
You are not following Plex naming and organization guidelines.
Rename and structure your files appropriately and it should work.
