Brand new to Plex here. But looking to dig in. My question is going to be the typical “new guy” question in, What should I be aiming for in terms of a PC build to accomplish a Plex server. I tend to over think things, so I probably do not need an elaborate setup, but I do want something robust so I do not encounter any issues down the road once I get on the ground running.
Thoughts on best PC/Router/Storage solution or setup? I was thinking a dedicated PC, but the PC I have now is fairly old and dated (prob 8 years or so), so it’s prob best to start a new. I have moderate technical skills, I can build a PC from parts. No budget constraints. The server would be for my own use, I would only have one client streaming at any one given time. I do not anticipate simultaneous streams. The one stream would be on the local network to a Roku device. Mostly TV Shows in SD/HD, no 4K planned at the moment.
